Top 5 October Purchases

I put myself on spending restriction in September and did a no-buy month. October meant I could spend freely again, but I didn’t do too much damage. There were a few sales this month, a few impulse purchases, and one intentional purchase that I’m so glad I got. Let’s dive in!

A $300 Hair Brush Dupe

I must have seen this hair brush 40 times online, but I could not justify spending that much money on A BRUSH! Then, thankfully, Kathleen from carriebradshawlied.com shared a dupe from Amazon. I figured it was worth a shot, ya know? WORTH IT! My hair feels so soft and smooth after I use it.

Loving Tan Purest Tanning Mousse

Self tanning is part of my routine, and I’ve come to love the brand Loving Tan. Their 2 Hour Express formula in shade Dark is my favorite of their products (so far), but when the Purest formulation was on sale for Amazon Prime Deal Days, I scooped up two bottles in shade Dark to try it out. It’s not the same color payoff and doesn’t feel exactly as the original formula does (a little stickier), but it’s still a very natural looking glow. The healthier formulation is very appealing to my safer beauty tendencies, so I plan to use both bottles to completion and will probably order more.

The Best Pumpkin Spice Creamer

Not all flavored creamers are created equal. I have actually come to learn that pumpkin spice creamer is not my favorite in coffee, but in a chai tea, it ain’t so bad. If you haven’t tried this, you must! Add some honey, and you have a delicious fall beverage. The Chiobani brand was available at my local Walmart, so I scooped it up on a whim and wow was I impressed! Try it!

Zebra Cardigan

Have I worn this? Not yet. (Come on cold weather!) When I saw it, though, I lost my mind. I knew I had to have it. I’m so glad I scooped it up and can’t wait to throw it on with literally everything. Get it at Not the Norm in store, but it’ll be online this week! I’ll update to Instagram when it does, and I’ll come back and update the link here.

She Reads Truth Advent Bible Study

This is the best Bible study to do for the holiday season. Advent is the four week season of anticipation as we wait and prepare our hearts for Jesus’ birth and second coming. No one does an Advent study like She Reads Truth. Here’s what I like about it: it’s simple and straightforward–no videos, just a short, daily devotion that requires a bit of reading, reflecting, and praying. There’re fun craft ideas and recipes you’ll definitely want to try. I’m particularly excited about some cinnamon rolls in this year’s book. Most importantly, you’ll walk away from it thinking about the Christmas story in a fresh way that makes you appreciate it all the more. You have plenty of time to scoop this one up before it begins on November 30.

Okay, I’ve spilled the goods on what I got this October. How about you? Got anything you’re particularly glad you bought? Tell me! Maybe I need it too. 😀

Until next time,
