Are you in holiday mode yet? I’m getting there. We’re halfway through the month and my first holiday audiobook came through on the Libby app, so maybe I’ll be enticed to start switching my pumpkins for stockings once it’s over. I do love the magic of the Christmas season. Okay, I guess I am kind of ready!
In the meantime, I’m really hoping to squeeze in another fall book plus I need to finish a fantasy book for book club, and I hope to FINALLY get around to the new Dan Brown. Ahhh, so many books, so little time! Let’s have a look at the five books I’m hoping to read this month.

Conform- Ariel Sullivan
I went in pretty blind to this November book club pick, as I often like to do with fantasies, hoping it had something to do with bucking against a system that wants you to conform to its ways. I always like that kind of a story and the characters usually come out triumphant. Unless you’ve read 1984, and then (spoiler alert) things don’t work out so nicely. Yikes! This book, however, is Jenna Bush Hagar’s first novel in her new imprint, and I can confidently say that I’m loving it. It is the first book of a trilogy, so hopefully I’ll want to continue once I’ve finished. If that’s the case, I hope we won’t have to wait too long for the next installment. Get your copy at the library, Amazon, Pango, or support a local indie bookstore through Bookshop.
If It Makes You Happy- Julie Olivia
I’ve talked about this book before. However, it seems to be eluding me this fall. Hopefully I’ll get my hands on it sooner rather than later. It’s a fall romance set in the 90s, and I just want to read it for all the nostalgia of my adolescence. Get your copy at the library, Amazon, Pango, or support a local indie bookstore through Bookshop.
The Secret of Secrets- Dan Brown
I’ve been so excited about this one! October made it take a back seat, but it’s on in November. This is another installment of the tales of Professor Robert Langdon. This time he travels to Prague, and I can’t wait to see what he gets up to. Get your copy at the library, Amazon, Pango, or support a local indie bookstore through Bookshop.
The Holiday Honeymoon Switch- Julia McKay
There’s a jilted bride, a hated groom, a switcheroo of vacation, enemies to lovers, mountain setting, Hawaiian setting, a cute bartender. I mean, come on! What a fun holiday book. I’ve got this one on hold on audio on the Libby app but I also bought it on Pango for $4 and cannot wait to get this one started. Get your copy at the library, Amazon, Pango, or support a local indie bookstore through Bookshop.
Love, Holly- Emily Stone
This story sounds like pure Christmas magic. Holly is part of an anonymous letter writing group that writes letters to strangers to let out their feelings of loneliness and grief. Most of the time the letters go unanswered, but when Holly receives a letter from someone she could potentially find, she makes it her mission to reunite the anonymous grandmother with her estranged family. As it turns out, Holly has run into the grandson before and it was electric. Now that they have to meet again, the sparks are still there. Will this be a good thing for Holly? Or will it all backfire? It’s already been delivered via Libby, and I’m enjoying it so far. Get yours at your local library, Amazon, Pango, or support a local indie bookstore through Bookshop.
As a reminder, Pango is a second hand book website that allows you to buy books from regular people like you and me. I always get deeply discounted books from there. Bookshop is a website that allows you to shop books online while still supporting your favorite indie bookstore. You get to choose the store at checkout.
Oh, how I hope I can tackle all of these this month. Maybe life won’t be so crazy and my pocketbook will be full enough to support my book buying habit! Fingers crossed! I’d love for you to let me know what you’re looking forward to reading this month. Drop it in the comments so we can all add to our TBRs.
Happy reading,

Just finished The Nightingale. All I can say is WOW!! Now reading Firefly Lane. So far so good. I do love Kristin Hannah books. But have to say, The Women has been my favorite so far. Love you, Elizabeth
I just reread (well listened) to The Nightingale! One of my all time favorites. So glad you read it!
I can’t believe you two read the same book! *Sisters*
Ahhh The Nightingale!! What a story! I haven’t read Firefly Lane. You’ll have to let me know how you like it. I think it’s sitting on my shelf, actually. I loved The Women and The Great Alone. You need to read that one too! Love you!!
