5 Good Things No. 6

Despite the photo above, we had quite a busy week in the Norman house. It’s been a while since things have been busy around here. For me, anyway. Paul hasn’t stopped working, so I guess I’m the only one who feels like it’s different. I got my hair done, went to Montgomery, and went in actual stores and interacted with sales associates. Several things that seem so normal that we haven’t been able to do in months, all done with a mask, of course, but I got to do them nonetheless. Looking forward to a new week full of more normal things.

Essie Gel Couture Nail Polish in Rock the Runway

Maybe it’s all of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel that I’ve been re-watching or the random interviews of Barbra Streisand I watch while I do my strength training exercises, but I’ve been really into red nails. My go-to red is Rock the Runway from Essie Gel Couture. My manicure lasts about two weeks when I use the polish and top coat from the gel couture line. If you’re still leery of getting back to your nail tech or just want to save some money, you must try Essie Gel Couture polishes and top coat. I use the top coat over every nail polish I use.
*I’ve not been able to find these polishes anywhere in Greenville, but I have found them at Target in Montgomery and of course, Amazon.

Hollywood

Ryan Murphy has done it again. Hollywood (on Netflix) takes place at the end of WWII and follows a group of people trying to make that Hollywood dream come true. It also dives into the challenges people of color and homosexuals had in the industry at that time. It’s full of a star-studded cast with names like Patti LuPone, Darren Chris, Jim Parsons, Dylan McDermott, Jeremy Pope, Holland Taylor, Queen Latifah, and Rob Reiner to name a few. It’s only seven episodes, so you’ll sail right through it. I know it won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but it was a great show and well done.

Salon on Main

I finally bit the bullet and got my hair cut and colored. I’ve been going to Donna at Salon on Main for a year or so, and I am always so happy when I leave. I felt very safe, and it was so nice to do something normal. Well, with my mask on. But it was still a normal thing that we’ve all been putting off, and it felt great to be back there.

Folex

Folex Carpet Spot Remover, 32 oz

Folex is a stain remover that I’ve heard many influencers talk about. Consider me influenced because I bought a bottle the last time I ordered from Amazon. I put it to the test on some splatters of self tanner that landed on the carpet. I’d say it works. What’s more, I had treated the stain with Resolve carpet cleaner the minute the tanner hit the floor, but it didn’t work. Folex works!

I’ll be back later this week with a recipe for chicken salad. It’s only a few ingredients and you probably have most of them in your fridge. Have a great week, y’all!
